There are so many different brand names and models for all kitchen appliances in the market today, which makes buying simple items more difficult because you have to wonder if there is anything better.  However, there are features to consider which helps narrow down your choices, and that is why we purchased the Amana ABB1921DEW Bottom Freezer Refrigerator.

My family and I moved in to a new home a couple of months ago, and of course, brought everything from our old house with us.  This included our refrigerator which we’ve had for quite some time now, and just did not go well with our kitchen.  We then decided to purchase a new unit, but did our homework first.  We searched the internet for something that would best suits our needs, and found the Amana ABB1921DEW Bottom Freezer Refrigerator.

We found that the Amana ABB1921DEW Bottom Freezer Refrigerator, which is by the way 18.6 cubic feet, was even named a Consumer Report’s best buy.  This almost had us sold, but of course we wanted to know what features it came with.

 We found it convenient that the bottom used a swing door instead of the usual bottom pull out drawer, unlike most bottom mount freezer refrigerators.  The freezer was even equipped with a light, which is very rare among these types of refrigerators, as well as an added wire slide-out freezer drawer. 

What I also liked about the Amana ABB1921DEW Refrigerator is that its appearance is simple.  The basic white also looks great in almost any kitchen, which is the only color it comes in, although some people may consider this as a disadvantage. 

Also, the fact that you can see everything in your refrigerator at eye level makes it so convenient.  The freezer found at the bottom also allows my kids access to their favourite dessert (ice cream), but I’m not really sure if that is a good or bad thing.  However, this may not seem like such a good idea if you have bad knees or hate to bend down to see what is in the freezer.

Last but not least, is its efficiency.  This means that it uses a minimum of 15% less energy than a standard refrigerator, making it ENERGY STAR qualified.  That may not sound much, but if you think about how much it can save on the long run, you will then see the difference.  Plus anything that helps save money even in the smallest way still matters.
